Marina One

Four cruciform towers with a circular central “Green Heart” and high-rise Sky Gardens

Marina One has a rectangular footprint of four towers, surrounded on all sides by greenery. Within is a large circular garden courtyard at ground level, rising to garden levels 2 to 4, 15 and the roof and penthouses.  This building is designed by Ingenhoven Associates from Germany, with gardens by Gustafson Porter from London.

ICN’s role at Marina One was to take Gustafson’s Porter’s landscape designs and develop them to full tender documents, manage the landscape tender process, and then oversee the implementation of the entire landscape at all levels. This involved advance purchase of plant materials, especially trees and palms, to ensure everything was ready by the time of installation to create a near instant effect.

The circular courtyard is the “Green Heart”, with its pattern of angular reflective pools and pathways in a forest-like setting. Cascading into the pools is a sparkling 13 metre waterfall, remarkable for its almost silent fall in to the water below. The relaxing atmosphere of these richly planted gardens is accessible by walking between levels, except for one side of level 3, where the residential swimming pool is located.
